Israel rushed laser system to UAE to fend off Iran’s missiles

Israel has reportedly rushed its advanced 'Iron Beam' laser defense system to the United Arab Emirates to help fend off a surge in Iranian missile and drone attacks. This deployment marks one of the first examples of major defense cooperation between the two former rivals, who have found common ground in their opposition to Tehran's regional activities. The laser system is designed to intercept threats at a fraction of the cost of traditional missile interceptors, providing a 'light in the tunnel' for regional security.

The move comes as the UAE faces increasing pressure from Iranian-backed forces, which have successfully targeted several Gulf energy hubs in recent weeks. While the 'Iron Beam' is still in its early stages of widespread deployment, its presence in the UAE signals a significant shift in the Middle Eastern military balance. The partnership highlights how the ongoing war in the Middle East is reshaping global alliances, with Israel and its Arab neighbors increasingly looking toward each other for the technological edge needed to counter shared security risks.
